Thursday 10th October 2019 at the Royal Southern Yacht Club, Southampton
Surviving the extreme - Antarctica, War, Space, Moutains & Medicolegal
A fantastic day taking us from the deep freeze of Antarctica to the peaks of mountain medicine, from nuclear submarines to the minefields of war, surviving chemical attacks and eventually blasting in to sub-orbital space travel (and everything in between!). With the winding Hamble River providing a stunning backdrop, delegates were offered the opportunity to hear from world experts in 'surviving the extreme', as well as Medicolegal expert Dr David Bogod speaking about the pitfalls of Obstetric Anaesthesia. Trainee presentations and updates from the deanery and trainee reps brought us back down to sea-level in what was a whirlwind of physiological mayhem. In what remains the only regional trainee-led meeting designed for Wessex anaesthetists of all grades, this is an excellent opportunity to hear about projects in and out of the hospital environment as well as meet with peers and ultimately, have a fun and enjoyable day.
